BONE ATROPHY
phenomenon of vertical and transverse bone loss that occurs after tooth loss.

OSSEOINTEGRATION
fbiological phenomenon of bone adhesion to a foreign body (such as titanium or zirconium) in conditions of sterility and absolute stability to the bone.

PERIOSTEUM
membrane that covers the bone below the gum layer.

SUBPERIOSTEAL PLANT

implant using the support to the bone below the periosteum.

ENDOSSEOUS SYSTEM
dental root-shaped implant (cylindrical or conical) inserted by puncturing the bone vertically.

IMPLANT ABUTMENTS
cylindrical pillars connecting the dental prosthesis to the underlying implant.

CBCT
Cone Beam Computer Tomography: 3D images of the bone performed by a radiogenic device with low radiation emission that can also be performed in outpatient facilities (dental offices).

3D MODEL
resin model built by 3D printers, an exact duplicate of the patient’s bone, obtained by CBCT examination.

TITANIUM
metal par excellence in implants, bio-tolerable and free of allergic reactions.

TITANIUM SINTERIZATION
procedure for which a high intensity laser beam determines the micro fusion of titanium powder (laser melting).

OSTEOSYNTHESIS SCREWS
titanium self-tapping screws used in traumatology to fix bone fractures.
